Default photoshop idea while bored...

Alright, so what are your opinions on this little monstrosity...?

Basically, its just a stock 4x4 Ranger with a slightly shortened wheelbase and a very small bed. The idea is to have the style, comfort, power of a Ranger in a smaller "jeep" style trail rider.

Not a really great idea I guess, but I was bored when I came up with it and felt like sharing the results. (I have done much better work with photoshop BTW, this was just screwing around)

I don't think it's that bad... looks a little funny since I'm so used to a real ranger but the bed can't be much worse than a sport trac....

ive seen that pic before on google, and your photoshop of it is interesting to say the least.

i think it would take more money to do it than its worth. shortened frame, custom shortened drive shaft, crazy body work done to the bed, not to mention the custom fab youd have to do to deal with the placement of the leaves, unless it was backhalfed with a 3 link or something.

I like it! Cut the fenders, dove the bed, add linked front and rear solid axles and you've got yourself a Ranger-Forums member's truck!! Same color too. He's got cutup doors too...but damn...what a nice fun unique wheeler. Someday...DWB will be cut up in a similar fashion.

Eff that! I want reg cab/long bed wheel base length. Jeep length is just too short for how tall I'm gonna be. I'm talkin' WAY down the road. lol.

BTW...those photoshops look like Ranger versions of airport super short trucks!

I think you should try to make a 4 door ranger like where you can actually fit people in the back and make a small bed in the back.

2012 Ford Ranger Concept. (ugly as shit, I'd rather have a Sport-trac)

No..... it'll be a dual purpose truck....xcab with 4' bed or so....wheelbase kept to regcab/longbed size for stability purposes.

Take a trailer to Mexico.....come home with 4dr crewcab cab and 4' bed. Where they don't have a Ranger x-cab, they have a Ranger crewcab. Mexico, Argintina, Brazil, etc. All the same body style as ours, just crew cab with a shorty short bed. I've always wanted to extend an X-cab US spec ranger's frame and drop on the Mexican crew cab. Crew cab long bed FTW!! 4' beds are worthless.

ACTUALLY...if you've ever read up on it....it's a Mazda B50 body ontop of the next Ranger's frame. The body is just a disguise.

Actually, I just climbed my first dirt hill down at the rock quarry today, (the other side turned out to be a LOT steeper than it looked from the road) and I learned 3 important lessons REAL quick...

1. CONFIRM visually how steep something is before trying it, distance can make you overly optimistic...

2. Turning + hill = scary! Don't do it!

3. Extra length = stability, which is good! If I had been in a Jeep or a smaller wheelbase vehicle today I would have rolled it for sure.

Stupid mistakes like this you only make once. Lucky for me I came through this one unscathed. Sure as heck makes me appreciate the length/center of gravity/reasonable height of this truck! The Ranger is awesome, and I truly believe that the only real problem it has is that rednecks like myself occasionally do stupid shit with it...

I guess that makes sense... Good thing too cause that was one ugly POS...
