Default Extended Cab or Supercab Nerf Bars?

Hey there guys... can someone please look at the picture of my truck in my avatar/welcome thread and let me know if I am an extended cab or a super cab? My gf wants to buy me new nerf bars for my birthday tonight, but we can't figure out if I'm the extended cab or the super cab.

I think that I'm the extended cab since I only have 2 doors (No suicide doors) but I do have the fold down rear jump seats.

Here is the listing for what she wants to buy me....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...Q5fAccessories

Someone please let me know if this will fit because she wants to buy it tonight!

Thanks!

extended cab and super cab are the same thing

Now, if you had actual rear doors (with an outside door handle) you would have a "double cab"

As I told you in your other thread, what you need to look for is if it's for a 2-door Ranger or a 4-door Ranger. The way you bounced around in your other thread and then created this thread I'm almost getting the impression you're trying to avoid this fact. Don't.

To answer your question... Ford doesn't label any Rangers as an extended cab, it is either a 2-door supercab or a 4-door supercab.

sorry.... I was just a bit confused with it because online it is labeled as an "extended" cab and I thought I was sure about it from the other thread, but then I found both extended and super cab bars for sale and I got confused again.

So I'd have a 2-door supercab then? (ie.... has 2 doors only, but still has a back seat... hence supercab) Would those nerf bars I linked up in post 1 fit then since they are labeled as "extended" cab rangers?

Ford trucks no matter Ranger to Superduty are classified as a supercab. Extended cab is a Chevy classification from the Canyon to the 3500. Four Door trucks by Dodge are called doublecab unless Megacab.

Not a problem.

Correct. You have a 2-door supercab. I have a 4-door supercab. Both versions have the same name.

It's an irrelevant point as once again we do not know if it's for a 4-door or a 2-door. Send an email to the eBay seller and see what they say.

My guess is that they would fit. 2-door rangers are more popular, thus from a business perspective, it would make more sense to produce and sell products for a 2-door ranger. Would I spend my money on that guess? No. Just email the seller...

I don't know for sure, but I bought the 2dr extended cab nerf bars from ebay and they bolted up perfectly! We had myself and another buddy jump on them just to see how strong they were, and they didn't flex at all....the whole truck rocked to the side, but the bars were perfect!

You can see them in my little avatar pic on the left under my name.

So your truck is a 4door??

EDIT: DISREGARD, of course they would fit you have a 2 door model.... I was just curious if i sell my 2 door nerf bars. When people ask if they will fit their truck i want to be able to answer them.

The mounting points on a 2-door are different than those on a 4-door. So your 2 door nerf bars will NOT fit on 4 door Rangers, unless custom fabrication is done.

Hope you don't plan on doing any real wheeling in that truck now that you put the nerf bars on. A non lifted Ranger with nerf bars and wheeling equals disaster. Come across some stubborn rocks, and those bars will get ripped right off. Good luck with that.

They look good but they are not practical IMO. That's why I took them I was always tripping over them.

Well chances of me wheeling in anything that is that high is pretty slim around where I live.... I do have a fun mudding track that is right by my dad's house (well it is a housing development under construction back in the woods, but with all the rain it is all muddy and fun to mess around in)! And if I rip the bars off then I'll just put new ones on... they weren't that expensive.
