Default Dualies

Okay what is the feasability of converting a stepside Ranger to have rear dualies?? I was just talkin about how much my ranger specifically looks like a mini f350 with the stepside and the style of it, and this popped into my head. I can't find ANYTHING Like it on Google, And I searched the word "Dualies" on this forum and didn't find anything...

EDIT* Probably because I spelt Duallys wrong but still haaha
Found a whole shitload of 1st and 2nd gen's but nothing newer

What all would it take and what would be the pro-cons of it??

I think personally with the flare/stepside bed it would just look plain BADASS, literally a mini f350 but you tell me?

I've gotta singlecab stepside like the top link, eventually painting it Midnight Blue, but imagine sick toyo dualies on these;

I found this site for dually kits, does anybody think that the 1998 Splash stepside fenders would be sufficient to cover duallys?

I imagine it would be possible with some custom glass work on the fenders. I thing JCWhitney sells adaptor hubs to do that. You might want to look into some up rated springs to take advantage of the added capability the extra wheels would give you. I saw some webs sites offering heavy duty springs rated at something like 1750 lbs for the Ranger. Not sure if there would be corresponding ones for the front as well though.

Edit: Then again, you have a four banger like me and proablably the same rear end. You might want to look into a 4.10:1 differential with an LSD for that since you probably have the 3.45:1. It will kill your gas mileage but give you more oomph and it will prevent wheel spin due to the lessened psi due to the extra wheels.

Awesome! Do you Think that there'd be a bunch of custom glass work or do you think theres any way to jam it under the existing fenders back there? This is going to sound stupid but can you shorten an axle?

And yeah I'd like to keep my gearing at where it is right now, I don't do any stupid stuff anymore, But I'm just tryin' to see if I could roll up to school with some sick wheels haha

I can't find any pics of late model Rangers done dually style, but I think it could work. I say do it right though. Get a fleetside bed, and put the step side bed sides on it, removing the steps and smoothing it in. Then you could run the same wheel adapters that the 1st and 2nd gen Ranger Duallys used.
Do work son!

So if you do this, are you going to remove the "RANGER" decal off the side front fenders and get an "F350" decal? You could cut the zero off the end and have an "F35" which would be a cool "mini" version...

I always kinda thought of the ranger as being an F-50 anyways, since the ford trucks go up by 100 (150, 250, 350, ect.).

i think if you find a f-750 cut the 0 off and you got a f-75 becuse your like 3/4 the way to a one ton
get it 3/4 = 0.75

go with what jonbaum13 said to do.. with the fleetside bed cut off and add the step sides back on.. as far as axle you can use a currie 9" shortened rear axle... SPORT TRUCK back in 90's did a fleetside bed with the step sides on it and a narrowed 9" rear end from currie and put Mickey Thompsons drag slicks...SWEET!
