Re: Help me design a rack to haul a boat
Im gunna park it until I find clamps, and drive the car. Also, I am thinking of making some sort of quick release system. I have a good idea, just gotta find a welder.

Re: Help me design a rack to haul a boat
Clamps wont hold down a boat in a cross wind or head wind.

Re: Help me design a rack to haul a boat
The clamps are to hold the ladder rack to the bed, I'll be using 5 or 6 ratchet straps for the boat.

Do you guys like the look of my truck with the ladder rack, or not? I can't decide, and in its current state, it will be a PITA to remove with the tool box.

Re: Help me design a rack to haul a boat
It doesn't move an inch either. 4 1000lb ratchet straps will do that. Still gotta bolt the rack to the bed though. I used clamps in the rear, but the front seems impossible to clamp down.

Re: Help me design a rack to haul a boat
Nice finished job.
I bought one of these extenders for hauling 15 foot long lumber in my 6 foot bed. Unless your idea was to keep it out out bed.
