Default My welding/work table

I had some of the 1.5" square tubing left over from my headache rack, so I decided to make a half decent welding table. The top is actually made from 3 pieces of 1/4 thick steel welded together. The frame for the top is made from the square tubing, everything else is angle iron welded together. When I get some more extra cash, maybe I'll buy one solid piece for the top,for now this works just fine.

I still have to run out to the hardware store and buy some locking caster (going to cut the legs down to keep the same height), I'm also going to buy a 10/4 (20 amp) 25 foot extension chord, and wire it into a quad outlet mounted somewhere on the table so that I have some movement with it. I'll post pics when finally done.

That is a sweet table. When I get a welder I want to make something like that.

Should serve you well. I installed my vise with only two 1/2" cap screws threaded into the top. I can remove it in a few seconds when working on something big where it would be in the way. I soon found out that two corners needed to be bolted to the floor to torque the living @**& out of something once in a while. They could be made for quick removal also.
Important thing is BUILD SOMETHING. You did good.

Table got some accessories. I added an intermediate tool box with 3 drawers top hold all my clamps, chipping hammers, extra wire, gloves, etc. Mounted my bench grinder and welded plated and bolted my casters. In the pictures, my legs are the same length, but my garage floor is that uneven.

added some hooks for my angle grinder stuff, I always take the guard off of them, so I will be using that to make a holder for the actual angle grinder.

Still need to paint some it again, and start on the electrical outlet for it.

got it all done and painted:

paint was still wet in this pic:

wired in the outlet:

used the guard off of the angle grinder to make a holder for it:

my new baby:

and my next project:
garbage picked a parts washer, painted it with that "hammered" paint as it was beat up, but I ran out so 2 more coats are needed. I'm waiting until the new pump from northern tool and my flow through brush come in to get it all plumbed. In the meantime I just wired in a switch as it was missing.

and a shot of my garage, since it's almost complete. When i moved in it was bare 2x4's, so it had to be dry walled and insulated, painted. I ended up making the wooden bench and cabinets for storage. All that is left is to run a 230v line so I can finally get my compressor in there.

Dump the lilly white kitchen trash container and get yourself a 55 gal drum. ...and where is the frig? My old lady would kill me running in and out on the carpet to keep chasing beers.

Not a bad parts washer for garbage pickin! I read in an old old hot rod mag for a home brew washer project and the guy used an automotive oil filter or a fuel filter can't remember but it was inline to keep the solvent clean. Not sure what pump he used. anyway I never got around to making it.
