So since i got my welder, I figured I want to change the look of my truck. I have always wanted a headache rack, but could not justify spending the money on one, so I'm going to make one! Decided to add back up lights the are going to be mounted between the rack and the cab, as well as 4 lights on top.
Here's the plan I made with google sketch up:
While cutting my light mounts, I decided to make some web accents for the parts what will hold up my lights, not the best execution, but I think they can be cleaned up and made work. Make them out of rivet shafts/mandrels (not sure what they're called) and wire hangers. Was also thinking of adding this web design gussets to the bottom of the rack where it will get welded to the angle....
so far I have spent $0.00. I got my light mounts, steel grate/screen for the back, now I just need some 2 inch square tubing.
For those of you with light racks or lights mounted similar to mine here, how did you run the wiring? Did you drill the rack/bar and run all wires inside? How did you run them in the bed to the cab? Thanks and any pics would help; I just want to make it look as clean as possible.
