Default Best welders

hey what do you guys think is a pretty good welder that works good. I have a small old Lincoln welder right now but it doesn't work very good. I want to get a small one that is good.

I know Miller is really good.

I have seen little portable style welders before I dont recall the names of them though.

i have never had a problem with the lincon welder i use you probably just need to spend some time with the manual and get the right settings and wire for what application you using it for unless its like ultra old and is just broken

This^ is a horrible statement. Miller is a great company. Our school has many Miller's and for the 15+ years they've had some of them, they've never had any problems with them. Miller will be a little more expensive though. Lincoln is a little bit cheaper in price but is just as nice as Miller. I think you should just figure out how to properly use your Lincoln that you have now(if you're still unfamiliar with it which by your posts it seems that way) instead of buying a new welder.

I have a Lincoln Mig Pak 10 wire feed welder that I purchased from Menards 4 or 5 years ago and really like it.
Prior to buying this welder Ive never welded anything in my life, but this welder came with a VCR tape that kinda helped.
My welder can be ran with or without gas and me not knowing anything other than how to be cheap I was trying to weld without gas. (big mistake lol)
Using co2/argon gas made a world of difference and now after 4 years of different welding projects I am a very good welder.
Just adjust the heat and the feed and anything is possible up to 3/16.

I love my Lincoln welder but if I had it to do over again I would go with the 220v version.
I didnt have 220 in the garage at the time so I went with 110.

i like miller over Lincoln, both are good though, just be a little more careful with ones like chicago electric or the chinese ones, hobart isn't bad either, depends on what ur wanting to do.

I've been a welder for more than 40 years - certified pipe and bridge welder and I would buy miller. although I used Hobatr on the job for many years.
