Default Homemade 2" Trailer Hitch?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone on the fourms has made a homemade 2" trailer hitch/reciever for a 1994 Ford Ranger? If so can you lead me to some pictures to how its mounted to the frame? I can weld, and I have all the tools and knowledge to be able to fabricate one but i cant find any pics of a homemade one. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a ball mounted on my '95 but not a receiver. If thats all you really want I can take pics of how mine's mounted.

best way to do this is the following. 3" 1/4 wall pipe. 1/4" plate steel. Start with a piece of the plate about 8"x10". weld on the 10" side another chunk of plate that is 10" long and about 3" wide. So it looks like an upside down "L". make 2 of these. Cut the top 1/3 of a 3" circle out of the bottom, kinda like a gussit. Lay your 3" pipe in it. Weld the shit out of it. I built one for my dads ranger like this. Can take pics tomaro.

And for the reciever part, get some 2x2 square stock or use your plate to build it yourself.

did u bolt this to the frame at the original location, weld it or drill new holes. I'm assuming those two square tubes other then the receiver going back are your new bumper mounts. And what size square tubing is that? If you don't mind me asking.

the two small square tubes are 1 1/4" reciever's for my removable tow hook's. The bumper mounts to the frame in the factory location with 2x2x1/4" angle but I did have to trim the spare tire tub so the bumper could sit back that far. And the two main square tubes are 2 1/2"x 2 1/2"x1/4" with 1/4" plate conecting the two square tubes at each end

I would say its probably stronger. I havent pulled any thing with it yet but I did have a F-350 break a brand new 4" strap trying to pull me out of a snow drift and it didnt even tweek it one bit.
