Default My Twist, On Wheel Covers

Can`t say that I have ever seen this on a Ranger. I can only hope, that it won`t get me banned from the forum.

I want to do away with the 7 spoke chrome rims, on my new 2000 Ranger.

I have always liked wire style wheel covers. Started searching on Craig`s List and found a set of 4, from a 1981-1983 Chrysler Imperial. Condition was not perfect, but figured they gave me something to work with.

After discarding the center caps, I took all 4 of them, completely apart. After some cleaning and other handy-work on one of them, I ended up with this. Now I just have to hunt down some plain steel rims to put them on. Makes for a nice winter project. ----- John

That'll be a nice upgrade to the 7 spoke steels!

To each his own! I'd sure hate to have to clean those spokes all the time.

Are you 7 spokes 15" or 16"?

Will need to find some steelies off a CrownVic or Town Car I would recon.

They are the 15" rims. The center holes in the Crown Victoria rims are .2mm larger, but if I have to go that route, I can always make bushings for them. A salvage yard, that I deal with, has been there since god was an altar boy and has everything going all the way back to wooden spoke wheels. --- John

I've got a pair of CV wheels with junk tires on them that I use for "smoke shows" with my 94 and have no issues with them. Don't need a spacer/bushing BOMK.

Subbed!! Can't wait for the final product, John! Always liked the wire spokes myself. I plan on getting some for my '83 Monte Carlo. ---Brojak
