Rock Sliders Build Idea
Alright so I'm going to be designing some rock sliders to fabricate and I figured I would get some other peoples thoughts and ideas on what I have designed. Currently my designs are very rough and do not have exact dimensions or any real good styling but over the next few days I will be improving the styling of them and taking proper measurements. Like I said it is a work in progress and I'm hoping to have actual blue prints done by the end of the day but I can't promise anything. Input is always welcome, even if its bad. Oh I almost forgot does anyone have a good way to mount the rock sliders to the frame? I also should mention that all of the tubing is 2" OD and has a 1 3/4" ID and the plate right now is 10 gauge steel.

Simply weld 'legs' (w/ plates) out from the frame to the mounting surface.

Thanks it looks like I'm going to have to modify the actual plate that mounts to the frame and make it just a flat piece of metal. HEre was the origanal idea I've been basing my design off.

Yep - everyone that I've seen install items to the frame on a "modern" Rangers (including myself) - used flat plate (see picture below).
Also might help to search for other threads - there have been some really good ones w/ details posted over the years.

Looking at some of the pictures that you've posted it looks like I might take the top piece of tubing off of my design. And I have been reading a couple of other forums but it seems like most of them were made in 2010 so I figured I would maybe make a new design. Not that old stuff is bad but I figured I'll throw my own twist on a couple of ideas.

Surely plastidip will make a good scratch resistant coating on the sliders.

Re: Rock Sliders Build Idea
Ok so I was finally able to get some measurements on my truck and ended up going with something really simple. There is defiantly room for improvement and styling but I think that the functionality is there (I would mainly be using it as a spot to lift my truck with a High Lift jack). I do plan on doing updates to it and eventually making them once I get the metal and time. Tell me what you guys think. Ill try to include some sort of pdf link to the actual individual parts drawings and the assembly. By the way any place where the actual metal tubing meets ether another piece of tubing or a plate there is a weld. I'm hoping to make blue prints I really just want some feed back first. Like I said its nothing fancy and there should be more updates.
