Default Bumper Build

I take no credit for the design, made with 2" square tube.

Here is the Old one i built a while back with the reese hitch. poorly done on my part.

And here is the New one i just built this weekend

I don't know if I would trust those d-ring mounts if they had to be used for pulling or getting pulled out.

If that was made out of Trailer receiver hitch steel 2x2, had some thicker steel end caps (minimum 1/4"), and the D ring placement cubes were actually solid cubes a little wider placement (2-4" from current position), welded on all 8 sides (front/back left/right) with an actual 1/2" knuckle with the appropriate sized hole for a 3/4" D ring, Had another 2x2 Hitch steel piece welded on the inside of those for high lift jack inserts right on the frame ends. with a single spot on the drivers side for a thin single row LED light (flood) for a reverse light.. Id say you'd have a product worth marketing if you offered it raw steel and or coated in Rhino liner/Linex material..

just my $.02

Some other Fab workers may be able to add some more structural integrity behind it for added strength. I think it looks nice but its true functionality would be what i would be looking for and want over looks. For all I cared it could be a railroad tie chunk of wood so long as I thought if i attached my snatch out strap to it and it wouldnt become a projectile towards my windshield....

I appreciate the input, I wish I used heavy-duty metal but it wasn't cheap getting 10ft of square tube. I will reinforce the d ring points and add more frame mounting points. as it sets right now it should be able to tow as much as the stock bumper using the stock bumper mounts.
When I started I never really made plans for what I wanted, it only took a few hours to build without planning.
with more input and comments someone might take what I got and build theirs 10x better.

I like it a lot. Obviously I wouldn't trust the ring a to do much. I've contemplated doing one like that for mine, but seeing as it doesn't stick out at all you are offered no real protection from the idiots behind you.

Yes, I got it off of a Kia Sportage, Didnt use the same mounting hardware cause it bolts to the side of the vehicle. I extended off the Bumper for the lower mount and the upper mount, u can see in the pics, Just bolt right behind the Tailgate latch, Holds the weight of my 33" wheel, Plus a full water can. Decided not to mount the can tho.
