For what was mentally pictured changed nothing other than trying to breath out your ears vs your nose or mouth. Neat trick but not much of a huge benefit. On top of that I personally don't see " A SNORKEL" kit looking all that bad considering I've seen people carry the PVC outside of the fender and up the A-pillar that some people inherently are proud of, e.g. http://www.therangerstation.com/Maga.../offroad.shtml Furthermore, he didn't have water ANYWHERE up to and flowing over his hood either and he was having a "dry condition" issue with his filter as it was, so your last point is moot... I've also seen people hydrolock a car/even a stock S10 just going through a puddle big enough to do so, no where near the precept thoughts of fording the river Kwai... Your only legit argument is the aesthetics (barely), I GET IT... and if nothing else, cost factors of having to shell out $400 for what I think is a nice kit as shown in my previous post links vs a puzzle kit of misc PVC elbows and reducers.
Your reading comprehension skills seem to be lacking.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but if i can trust pvc to keep the shit that a flush down the toilet, from ending up in my walls, then i can trust it to keep water out of my intake. The hidden snorkel is a great idea and has been used by several people with good results. I've had water up to headlights before and was praying it didn't get any higher. Having the extra security of knowing you can go a little deeper if you get in over your head, is good thing.

Y'all chill out, it's fine. Both points are valid, it's just personal preference. I appreciate all of your ideas, that's why I was asking. I wasn't trying to start any fights lol

I've been running 3" od PVC up the a pillar. We've gotten so much rain lately where it has served a purpose.

Looking at going to 3.25" exhaust style tubing so I can flow more air, thanks for the compliments

Id personally look into this, before trying to glue a bunch of pvc together. 3" is a great size and more then the motor will flow even though its not a smooth laminar surface. Dont pay the $30 for the 3' of spectre flextube. Go to walmart or any rv supply and get "3 inch rv drainage hose" its the same exact flextube, walmart has it by the 20' in black for $20, and grab spectres flex hose connectors http://www.spectreperformance.com/se...spx?prod=87411 separate at any auto part store. I could kick myself for paying for spectres 3' of flextube.

photo of what rv tube will look like, this one happens to be brown.

I actually went a different route and went solid all the way. I'll get some pics posted in the morning. Sorry for the delay, I haven't had a phone for the past two weeks since I shattered my last one lol.
I went 3"ID behind the fender (a helluva fit, btw.) to the stock air box, where it's basically just clamped onto the end ( I need to cut and cauk the crap outta it, get rid of that narrow choke point). So far isn't giving me any trouble, even backroads and rain it acts fine. Pics in the morning!

I'm pulling the fender off this weekend to do the cosmetic pretty-ups on the fender and finish securing the snorkel, I'll take inside pics then.
