can you paint a chrome bumber and other pieces
this weekend i'm am going to attempt to repaint my ranger, trying to bring it back from it's hellish paint. I was wondering if I could sand the chrome bumpers and the chrome pieces above the grill and put them in primer, if I rough the chrome up pretty good will the primer hold? (going to paint my ranger a "Royal Blue" with black bumpers and black trim) thanks - Cherokee

Re: can you paint a chrome bumber and other pieces
I used that rust-oleum bedliner on my centercaps (I paint with patience and take all the proper steps) and they looked great until summer came. now they very faded, never again will I paint with bedliner unless im doing the inside of my bed haha, but thanks for the suggestion!

You can plasti dip them. Plastidip will not fade! And if you don't like it you peel it off. I had it on my chrome bumpers for a while but decided I wanted chrome back and peeled it right off

Mine lasted months with no issues. I just didn't like the look. If you pull the bumpers and make sure you cover it all it will stay

I bought I think 4 cans maybe 5. It was enough to go both bumpers. All emblems. And wheels and all got like 5 coats each.

Re: can you paint a chrome bumber and other pieces
when i paint my ranger i'm thinkin 3 coats of primer (sanding entire truck and doing dent work) and 3-4 coats of paint....seriously thinking about a hoodscoop.....

I love powerdomes but that's a newer ranger thing. I thought about a hood scoop but think it would look funny.

Re: can you paint a chrome bumber and other pieces
at pepboys they have a decent looking hoodscoop for 40-ish, i was thinking about drilling a few holes in the hood and covering them with some thin metal screens (so debris doesn't make its way into the engine bay) and mount the hoodscoop on top.
