I have a 2005 Edge 4x4. Just starting to see evidence of rust on the bottom of my passenger door. So I read good advice about how to handle the door with a rust encapsulator, but had a question about doing the frame: Removing the bed isn't really feasible for me. Does it still make sense to try to protect the frame with an encapsulator? Can I spray the stuff on after properly cleaning up the frame as mush as possible?

Why not undercoat the frame?

I looked around for an undercoating company before, but there doesn't seem to be much in my region. Like Ziebart, etc. But overall I'm more inclined to go DIY to get the best end result. Truth is, I don't think I trust the undercoating companies to do the best job.

Have you had experience with using undercoating?

I've used it on my mud jeep. Just get a bunch of cans of spray on undercoating and go to town. I know a guy that undercoated his entire Mercedes before
