Default Homemade Fishing Rod Rack

All set up, this is what its like

From Behind

Just bent some pieces of steel into shape and it just hangs off the lip of the toolbox itself

Closer look on how the brackets are shaped up

Just cut out a little notch to hold the neck keep the rod stable.

All in all, this set up cost me 5 bucks and a few hours to make. I wanted a rod rack for a while but didnt want to spend an arm and a leg just so i could hold my fishing rods. I didnt want to drill a hole to mount it on my toolbox either so i came up with my own idea. Materials used were lumber i had laying around, screws, flat steel, and the pvc pipe. Spray painting it is up to you. I built this out of scrap materials i had lying around the garage for under 5 dollars. Now that 5 dollars only came from buying the pvc pipe. At lowes, 10 feet was i think 4 something and tax. If you dont have wood, lowes has the same wood (15 feet iirc) for 2.50. Really this is just a cheap project i did during a weekend. Dont be afraid to try it out yourself!

Hey so how did you mount it to the toolbox without drilling into it? I can't really tell, only the first picture is working on my phone

Hm im not sure why their not loading on your phone, but theres this flat strip of steel i have drilled onto the wood holding the holders. That steel is bent into kind of a hook shape and it just hangs on the toolbox

Looks good but I wouldn't want my expensive fishing poles sticking up like that while driving.

Eh for 5 dollars im not complaining. I only drive about 10 minutes to get to where i need. Living on the coast has its perks haha. The only reason i did it was because i was tired of my rods sliding in my bed. Before i had this on, it shifted sides, slid and hung out on the opposite lane. Seems to be working pretty well to me

Are there any laws regarding flag pole mounts???? In Atlanta, the cops are D**ks about silly car laws (I.e noise level, window tint etc.)

That is awesome

I need to find a way to do that.. I was thinking about it, but maybe I could just drape it over the back of my bed?

I do have a drop-in bedliner I could probably just drill into... to mount it

I was actually going to use this rack to fly 2 flags. On veterans day im gonna fly the pow/mia flag and a Marine flag. Now my buddy did something similar in his bronco. He actually drilled the pvc into his tailgate though. Now just imagine a bronco sitting on 9 inches of lift at 37.5 boggers with an enormous rebel flag on it haha
