I have had this happen on the B2300 I used to have. This exact thing only the tech realized his mistake before it was too bad to be just pushed back in and dropped it and put the frame adapters under the truck. Best part was that I was watching the whole thing happen.

That's very helpful to figure out what all was damaged on mine. I think in my case it was obviously a lot worse but its helpful nonetheless.

Hopefully they stand behind it, usually business when they have big fuck ups like that they stand behind it just because they will turn around and turn it into there insurance. Just make sure you nitpick every little thing to get more than you need. I cannot believe someone saw that plastic and thought it was a lift point... its just a cover for where the bottom of the fender bolts to the bottom of the cab.

I've seen the people that work at those shops like that. You would swear that they just look at people in the interviews and they just ask, "do you like cars" they say "yeah yeah" "what sounds a car make" they say "vroom vroom" then "do you have any prior experience" they say "nope" soooo "your hired". Bunch of morons making $9.00 an hour to do mechanics, come on.

Exactly?! Once I get this all fixed and sorted out I am going to be handling my truck on my own. By the way, is $450-$500 reasonable to have rear breaks changed on a Ranger? I don't think so... I already owned the rims when I brought it to them and only purchased tires for a little over $400. After they inspected my rear brakes like I asked them too, they tacked on that fee which brought my total to a little under a thousand. Now why is that...

Because........they're d***s haha. I'd be raising hell if someone did that to my truck. I'd be doing everything I can to get my money, and more, back

I have seen many guys right out of tech school do the same with big trucks at work.

It usually takes a few weeks of close supervision to get them to do it right. I dunno how they teach them in school these days. You would think it is common sense to put it on something sturdy, but that is not always the case.

I would a tleast go talk to manager then if nothing go higher up and file a small claims against them.

On a side note at my work a estimate is only valid for 48 hours and you have to bring back that paper at time of service.

I'm planning on heading back there on Monday to show them and figure out how to address it. The estimate on the brakes doesn't bother me too much only because they are original and haven't been looked at but once.

$450 just for rears is expensive.

I really hope that you get compensated for your damage. I'd imagine that the insurance company for them will get involved, and hopefully, you don't get screwed.

I was going to say, I had my whole rear end rebuilt (axles, seals, bearings, drums and brakes) for 1300 at a ford dealership......
