hey guys i have two quick questions for you. i have a friend with a 92 ext cab ranger that is painted in ford red. its pretty faded. there currently is no tailgate on the truck but i wanted to give them a tailgate as a gift. i have found a couple used ones on craigslist (which will work) but i am curious if i have to search for one that is exactly a year 92? what other years if any will work on a 92 model truck? the other question i was curious about is how should i go about making the used tailgate match the original paint truck?

you need the paint code off the truck....

Here you go. This list all the paint codes for that year so he doesn't start to catch on when your trying to right down his paint code from his door.

From there you can get a rattle can from a local auto parts store made. (Only some do)

Im not 100% sure on what years will all fit. Ill try and find out for you real quick.

okay guys i have the paint specs. it says on the inside of the door "YN"...but when i look at the chart it says silver however the truck is red so im not sure. i guess a spray can would be the way to go? just matching up by eye? and thanks devin-20 for finding the years
