My brother got me a HID conversion kit for my 08 Ranger. Thing is, there is no space to get your hands in there to take out the old bulbs and to install new ones. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to avoid massive blood loss? Has anyone done this conversion yet that can offer any advice?

The headlights come out easy. Take off the small black plastic thing that is on top of the head light. Two 5.5mm(i believe) screws. Then there is two metal retaining clips pull up on them, then the head light is free to pull out.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but i got a HID question and didnt feel it was worthy of its own thread.

I have the HID's and have had them a while. I just picked up a westin bull bar and it happens to mount right on my frame where i have the ballast for fogs zip tied. Can somebody show me some pics or give a better idea of where to mount the fog ballast other than the frame?? Its not the end of the world, I could prob just mount them to the safari bar bracket after its installed but thought i would see if anybody got creative with their placement...

I have 6 ballast and they were all a PITA to mount. 2 are mounted behind the grille, 2 on the inside of the fender, and the other two(for my fogs) are like right behind my headlights.

I have four ballast. Passenger ballast is next to my air filter. Passenger fog ballast is inside of the front bumper. Driver headlight ballast is right behind the headlight/in front of the battery. And the driver fog ballast is the same with the passenger fog ballast
