Default 2001 Ford Ranger Edge bumper HELP PLEASE!!!

Hello! Long story short when I was walking to my truck that was parked in a parking lot I noticed something very strange about my bumper.... I have never noticed it until that day and I am pretty sure someone hit my bumper and took off without leaving me a note. On the left side front bumper it is shifted down and pressed in. However, on the right side its not shifted and has a gap how it should be.

Here are a few pics just to show you what it looks like.

Left side bumper (The part that shifted down and is pressed in)

And here is the right side how it should be

Can one please give me any information how I can fix my bumper? I have no idea what to do.... Should I try to fix it myself along with a friend? Or should I cough out the extra money to take it into a auto shop?

Does it look like I need a new bracket or anything else? or does it look like I can push it back up????

I really need some help and I would really appreciate it!

Here is what my truck use to look like before someone hurt my pride and joy

Thanks yall,

I hope someone can help me out!

i dont have any experience taking apart truck bumpers before but i have taken car bumpers off, simple cars like civics and accords. on a car, the side of the bumpers are held in place by a bolt usually connected to the bottom of the fender and also fender liner. when car bumpers sag like that it usually means that the bracket where the bolt screws into is bent or broken, if thats not the case with you then you should simply look at the good side of your truck and follow how the bolts or clips are placed then look at the bad side and compare, my last resort would be taking it to a shop believe me they will charge you.. i had a civic where that bracket was rusted out and i just drilled another hole and went from there, anything is better then taking it a shop who then will charge you a bunch for somehting you can do yourself

"The bumper mod" used to be quite popular with Edge owners a few years ago. The valence ("bumper") is held on with bolts that have some adjustment room available. What guys were doing back then was loosening the bolts to adjust out the gap between the bumper and the sheet metal, eliminating the "smiling" look.
Unless your truck has some kind of physical damage, you should be able to do fix it without to much trouble. Slide under the truck and you should be able to see the bolts.

I took a look at the brackets and they are welded on to the frame of my truck.... So taking a look at the big pic it would cost me a ton of money just to take it to a shop... So I put some thought into it and came to the conclusion if I put enough pressure on the bracket I can bend it back to place....

I couldnt loosen/tighten the bolts since they where welded on... Dont ask me why I have no idea....

So I lifted my truck up at my friends shop and put a bar underneath the bracket and slowly lowered the truck!

With about 5 attempts my bumper looks brand new!

Just had to bend the brackets back to place....

And someone mustve hit my truck pretty hard because the bracket was bent pretty darn bad

But yeah it looks good now!

Thanks yall

Glad to hear its back to normal...also I noticed on the driver's side your valance popped off a little, just give it a good hit and the tabs will pop back into place.

Yes you are 100% correct. My buddy was like whats wrong here and I was like it needs glue or a replacement and he was like NOPE and pop it back to place!

Good eye.

Thanks for suggesting that
