Default Paint Chipped off Fiberglass?

Hey guys,

My truck had a rear end collision at some point in its life and they replaced a crumpled section of fender behind the back passenger wheel. I was in some mud the other day and sprayed the back section off with a pressure washer and the paint came off. Now there is a visible fiberglass section that looks pretty bad. Is there a way I can fix this? I don't think I can apply paint directly because the fibers are sticking out.

Any thoughts?

Unless you have experience with fiberglass and painting, sadly, you can't do much about it.

Now if you're asking if it IS repairable, then yes, it can be repaired. The area gets sanded down, then new fibreglass/resin gets put on top. Then it gets sanded back to a smooth finish, and repainted.

My relative has a step-side, with some damage, with bare fiberglass showing, but on an older truck, it isn't worth paying a body shop to repair it, unless you plan on keeping the ranger for a long time.

Hope this helps with your question.
