Default Windy noises at high speeds

Hi everyone,

When I drive at speeds 40 mph and higher I hear a lot of windy noise in what sounds like the top of the window in the door frame.

Weatherstrip? Well, I don't think so, because a visual inspection of the weatherstrip indicates that it's fine. When I leave the weatherstrip dry, and put water on the inside of the door, close the door, I can see a water mark on the whole weatherstrip. So the door is sealing.

I also tried to tape over the outside of the door (with the door closed of corse), then test drove the truck to see if air was leaking in that way. I still heard the noise.

Here is what I think the problem is: When I have the door open, and I look into the jamb toward the fender, I can see light peaking through. I can see right into the fender. I think air is traveling through the fender and into the door jamb thus making the turbid windy noise that drives my crazy.

when I look at the passenger side, which makes no noise at all, I see a foam "air dam" looking type part! I think that the body shop guys that worked on this truck last never put back the foam insulation piece.

Has anyone ever dealt with a problem like this before?

Yes, there's an insulation block that goes in the rear of the fender.

Ok. Yeah I am hoping that getting and installing that insulation block will solve the problem. Have you ever installed one without having to take the door off?
