showing it's age

Well, I think my truck is finally showing it's age.

After changing the oil in my truck I wanted to see how bad the rust was on the left rear wheel well.

Well, after a little grinding and some knocking rust loose. And low and behold, a hole! Quite a big one. Picture's a little fuzzy, but you get the idea.

That isnt to bad. Easily repairable

And given that you live in the north east Most vehicles are rusty and falling apart.

I could stick my whole hand in some rust holes. The rear wheel well and right under the taillights rust faster than any other part.

Don't feel bad my 02 has a whole rusted straight through the box.

It's rusted through the wheel well. Almost like a crumbling cookie. You can see through it. It's about 9 inches long and about 2 inches wide/high.

The cab on my truck did not have any rust on the cab maybe i was lucky. But pretty muck the rear wheel well back to the tail lights was just one big hole. My statement was just based on my experience with these trucks.

It's rusty probably from old age. And how do patch it up?

You can weld a patch in and smooth it with bondo. Or they sell new upper wheel archs ebay has them somtimes.

Well since I don't weld and the two people I know that weld are super busy I'll have to go with optin two maybe. Or just start saving my nickles after I get my Focus paid off for a new truck.

I really like this one for sale around the corner of my house. But I don't have the $ to go into debt to take out another loan to buy it. It's an early 2000's not sure what year Ranger for 8K something.

You could buy a new bed and paint it. But it is hard to find a bed in good enough condition to make it worth buying.
