Question Chrome rear end cover!

How hard would it be to install this. Is it just a simple unsrew and bolt back on, or are the bolts holding a lot of shit together?

Too bad that's not in the HOW TO section. LOL! That seems a little too much for me. Seems like something I would screw up.

Take out all 10 bolts holding on cover

Clean surface of axle housing of old gasket.

Apply RTV to the new cover and apply gasket over applied RTV

Apply some more RTV on other side of gasket.

Take one bolt and insert into a top hole of the cover. Then take one bolt and insert into bottom hole of cover. Will help keep gasket aligned

Place cover back onto axle housing.

Install remaining bolts finger tight. Tighten in a star shape, like you would mount a wheel. Do not over tighten the bolts. Get them nice a snug

Refill the gear oil from the front side of the differential (next to the drive shaft on the driver side). Make sure that the fluid is even with the filler hole when on level ground.
The owners manual says 80W90 gear oil should be used
If you have limited slip you should add friction modifier, Some oil already has the LS additive in it already.
