Do it on a hot day (in the 80's or so) then the paint wont be as brittle. Im waiting on warn weather up north here so i can throw my rear bumper on my 20 ton hydraulic press and fix a dent from the previous owner.

What about smaller dents. Do those suction cup things pull those out?

Yes generally speaking, it really depends what kind of panel its on. If its flat (like a door) they work great, if on a concave surface they usually tend not to work as well because the metal is more rigid generally speaking. If you can get it with a suction cup then the welding studs and stud puller method works (this is what body shops will do if they don replace the panel) but take lots of effort. The last option is NOT recommended unless you know what you are doing/have the equipment.

if a suction doesn't work, take off your fender, and lightly hit it out with a rubber mallet around the edges and slowly hit it harder in a circle around the dent, till you hit the sweet spot, and it will pop back out. don't hit directly in the middle though, it will leave little pressure points and look bad

Ill give it a try. I wanna try the suction cups on my tail gate, got a few small creases. I saw them at harbor freight for 6$. Didn't know if the quality would even work
