Default Would my truck look stupid...

would my ranger look stupid if i installed one of these.

A: 3" body lift, but didnt immediately upgrade my tires. they are slightly larger than the stock. 235/75/15

B:2" leaf and coil lift, same tires...

it seems every thread i can find no one asks this question. I want to get larger tires but mine are pretty much brand new id have to wait. i didnt get the "lift bug" til after my tire purchase...

also searched the web for pictures but its hard to tell in some photos. The red ranger sits a lil low. but if anyone has experience and thinks its gonna look dumb, well... i just couldnt do that to her...

thanks guys.

I would say yes. Find a cheap pair of 32s on craigslist if you want to body lift it

I would just wait till you need tires then get the lift. Just my opinion. Save up the money for nice new tires later on, do another mod for now, spend it on whatever, i would save it up.

Whats this about a coil lift that I'm hearing for the first time on 4x2s?

To the OP, go ahead and do the body lift; reasoning:

On older 4x2 rangers, such as my truck, they sit pretty damn low. My brothers '11 Ranger 4x2 sits at least 2" taller then my truck, but I believe its more around very high 2"s to 3"s and it has factory stock tires and look perfectly fine.

Its sits 2-3inches taller with my 28" tires and his factory stock wheels/tires with same rim size.

I'm not sure if just the factory body spacers and suspension just start to go down over 10+ years to lose a few inches. Or if the '11's 4x2s are just built taller.

The only stats I could fine to support my statement:

66.3" 4x2 2011 Ford Ranger overall height. Supercab (2011 4x2 Reglar cab is 66.2") so it shouldn't matter I'm comparing it to a regular cab.

64.9" 4x2 2001 Ford Ranger overall height. Regular cab.

1.4" in differences. However I'm 100% sure it'll drop 0.6" in 10+years. Everyone knows brand new springs break in & lower down 1-2cms(0.4-0.8inches) in the first few months.

So around 2.2"differences between when compared to a brand new '11. Could be more due more time/body rubber mounts lowering it more.

Little more info:

67.7" 4x4 2011 Ford Ranger overall height. Subercab.

Which would equal 2.8" taller then your ranger with stock tires that 'look fine'. Plus 0.8" for springs to break in = 3.6" taller then your ranger, again looking 'fine' with stock tires.

Note: Let me just say these are just some rough guesses, but I shouldn't be too far off.

Rangers got different keys in 2008 to make them sit lower
