Default Painter's Advice needed

I have a thread on here for my 14' jonboat project. I am about to paint it and need advice.

http://www.fordrangerforum.com/proje...-boat-log.html

I am not going to prime the whole thing, I just sanded the entire outside with 150 grit sandpaper to rough up factory paint. There are some bare spots where bare aluminum is; for those, i am going to spot prime with self-etching primer.

now for the advice i need. I pressure washed the boat a few months back, but forgot to before sanding. I am going to sand the inside today and ill be done sanding. is it ok for me to wash it after sanding. i was going to wash it with Dawn to remove any greasy residue, dry it, then wipe it down with some kind of miniral spirit to fully degrease it. is this ok, or will washing it mess up my sanding job?

you can wash it.... use leaf blower to help dry it.... nothing will happen to your sanding job. The worst care scenario is that you use too much pressure on your pressure washer and strip paint off (but that can be done on a non sanded surface as well).

when painting anything it is always good to clean before sanding and before paint (so you dont sand in any grease/oil/enviromental fall out but I have forgot the first one plenty times and have been painting 15 years so make sure of the good clean before paint
