I was just wondering. my underbelly parts are getting rusty. any one know if its a good idea to spray paint that stuff like differential cover. i want it to be black. any paint suggestions like paint for metal and wont wear off?

When i got my truck i cleaned as much rust off as i could and painted every where i could reach with duplicolor rubberized undercoat

i power washed mine every fall then sprayed mine with used motor oil then ran every dirt road i could find and mine always looked clean

When you did that, are you actually saying take sand paper under there and prep? or jus get the major crap outta there and then spray it down good..?

took the bed off power washed everything, to get the loose stuff then i used i wire wheel to get the rest of the loose stuff. Then i just soaked the whole under side, and frame rails.

Ohh i gotcha.. Sounds like a lot more work than i care to do. Much less i don't have the tools or the manpower to get the bed off..

bought the truck new in '04 traded it 2 weeks ago and i power washed the truck underneath really good and didn't see any rust anywhere when i went to trad it for the dodge i have now

half the time it sat all winter in the yard because i plow a lot during the winter i usually run 4x4's

i am going to use the undercoat on the in side the frame rails and alexs and taking the rustouelm hammer paint and do the out side of the frame rails
