Default Tonneau Cover

I am looking at ordering a Tonneau from Truxdeo, and debating between the "peel" rubber one, or the Velcro type seal.

I am leaning towards then Velcro style.

Also, anyone use the tailgate cap? Worth it, or no?

personally, velcro would wear over time and im not sure ive heard of the peel one. I have a tri-fold one that locks underneath the bed-rails and its awesome but hey to each his own

I've looked at the Tri-fold, but it don't "roll" up tight to the cab to give you full box opening if needed.

I've looked around and few other has said the Velcro are better with cold winters.. (We have that here in MN!)

I (and all the trucks in my family) have the access brand tonneau with velcro. Different brand of course but the oldest one is like 6-7 years old and no problems at all with the velcro. Also none of us have tailgate caps so I don't see a point there... I mean, mine definitely rubs the paint but it's hidden by the tonneau and is just at the edge of the tailgate. The cap will rub paint in a more obvious spot IMO.

Very good point about the rub area of the cap.. I will forget that.

Guess I've never had them in the past. Can go with out it again.

Agri-Cover are very good i have installed thousands at my work and nothing but good news from them. They are made my Agri-Cover which uses a nonshrink material that has been tested for years on farms for various applications. Its also offered in a sporty look (Access) or low profile (Lorado) or there basic design (Literider). They also make one so that you can have a tool box in the bed but yet still have a roll out cover, made with the same quality and they all lock.

Pace Edwards offers a roll up canister style. This comes in a hard Plastic, light weight and full metal, not so light weight. This cover is very durable and water proof also locks. Also it comes with an electric motorized opening.

The snap ones made by extang are cheaper but yet also they shrink and wear out in a couple of years, i have replaced all the extangs we have sold so far with access covers or rugged cover which is a tri fold system. Lund also offers a good cover.

Dont buy tracRac tonneau cause they wear out very fast and arnt as strong.

Under cover is good because its a hard PVC type plastic and can be taken off by one person and weighs under 100lbs.

Hope that helps out man

I have a Truxedo Lo-Pro w/ velcro and i love it. Opens and closes really fast and as long as you go around a press over the velcro when you get done closing it it gets a decient seal. I get minimal water in the bed when i go through carwashes but i think its from imbetween the tailgate and the cover. Other than that i like mine!
