Default snorkel

I think I'm interested in a snorkel. I like the look but is it worth putting one on?

Is it worth putting one on? Only you can answer that. Do you drive through water that is higher than the bottom of the bumper? If yes, then it is required. If no, then why the hell would you need it?

Well I think my question is more towards the difference in the depth with one then without. I never had the water past my doors but I'm sure one day that might change since we are getting pounded with rain.

If your concern is going through flood waters, just stop and go no further with this. You driving through floodwater, especially that which is deeper than your doors, with your ford ranger is an incredibly bad idea. Find a detour. We'd rather not see you die.
