Mine is mounted between my sun visors above my rear view. But I drive a 94. Might not work there for you with your model/year.

Welcome, btw.

Ya I don't really want to mount it there. Don't want the mic cord in the way all the time. Thanks for the idea though!

I mounted mine, when i had one, on the left side of the transmission bulge on the floor. Never got in the way, but the mic sometimes did, though i drive stick.
Mind you, I had a small radioshack one. It actually worked really good considering I got the cb+ant(magnetic one i just tossed on the roof) for like 60 bucks haha. Had it checked for its tuning once and it was spot on. I think i got lucky though haha
If you havent already you could consider intergrating it into an explorer console. I have always thought that it would look sweet there. Not sure on how much in the way it would be though.

Mine is going to the right of the passenger airbag control key slot. Good place and it doesn't get in the way.

2003rangerfx4 love your setup. That's where I'm going to put mine. I have a cobra 29ltd so it's a bit bigger but would do perfectly there. Thanks
