Default Rangers pic's with ATV's aboard/ideas?

Hello

I have a Honda Foreman/S (Standard shift) 450 with ITP Mud Lite tires 26x10-12 rear, 26x90-12 front. Would this fit in my 2010 Ranger FX4? Does anyone have any pic's with this ATV ( or similar ) in the box of there Ranger? Please post pics if you've got any. My ATV is 4 feet wide, so I believe it will have to ride up over the wheel wells. Once over the wheel wells do the ATV foot boards fit between the wheel wells? ATV has a front mount Warn winch as well (fairlead protudes from front of ATV a bit) I just want to make sure while loading, I don't smash out the rear slider window in my truck. Does the tailgate need to be down or up for this size ATV? Any truck box platform mods needed to load this ATV?

Thanks Jeff

It'll fit. Once you get ur 4 wheeler in the truck depending on your skills you might need to pick the front end up over the wheel wells/ or drive it over. It doesn't look like you have a headache rack so i'd recommend tie down's front and rear. Make sure to place blocks between the 4 wheelers front tires and truck bed. This will ensure the 4 wheeler wont creep toward the rear window. If you don't strap her down tight, and your driving over any bumps your almost guaranteed to bust out your back window. You should be able to close your tailgate as well. I own a polaris magnum 500 and it fits in my 2004 xlt truck bed just fine. Good luck!

Hey Joey

That's great news, fits with tailgate closed. I'd definately always be tieing down front and rear (that's how I do it with my ramp trailer). I will be getting a Backrack Safety Rack soon.

For sure I will be placing blocks between the 4 wheelers front tires and truck bed, that's a great idea you have there thanks.

Do you have any pics of your ATV loaded in the back of you truck, you could post?

All great advice Joey.

Cheers Jeff

Sorry Jeff. I don't have any pics of my Ranger and 4-wheeler combo. The thought of taking that picture when the opportunity arose never crossed my mind. When hunting season rolls back around i'll remember to take the pic.

Glad to hear your 4-wheeler fit in your truck!

I have a suzuki ozark 250 and it fits in the back no problem in my 1998 extended cab. never had a problem with it rocking and hitting the window. My friends yamaha 660 grizzly on the other hand is a complete different story. It fits fine with the tailgate down but make sure to strap it down. I thought my buddy had but he just put it in park since he had to drive over the wheel wells to get it in the back. well it rocked forward on a set of railroad tracks and broke out both outer pieces of glass in the back window. the center slider piece was just fine. lol But it was a good thing as when I replaced the window I found out why it had been leaking for so long. someone previous to me must have lost a window and didnt get all the weather stripping on the window they put it. they tried lots of clear silicone to seal it.

I'll look forward to those pics.

Sorry for the mix up. I was quoting your statment about it fitting with tailgate closed. As being great news.

I have not tried my ATV fit yet. One reason I'm asking these questions is. I don't want to purchase the aluminum ramps I've got my eye on for no reason (if it won't fit, it would be a waste of $$$$). Guess I'll have to find a couple 2x6's and give'r a try.

Next hunt for me is Turkey (mid May). But that's right in my backyard. So transporting my ATV comes in Nov. for the Deer season. Although I would like to take it before then. For skeet shooting, cottage and trail riding.

Cheers Jeff

Thanks for the thought, guess this thread is pretty dead. I would have thought there'd be quite a few Ranger owners with ATV's. I guess I was wrong. Oh well I'll figure it out myself. No biggie!

Cheers: Jeff

Oh Ya here we go, just what I've been lookin for!!! Thank you thank you

Nice truck he had there, the new owner must be a happy camper.

Looks like he was just just shy of closing his tail gate (back tires look to be, just out a touch to far to close the gate). It looks awefully close to the back window to, a BackRack looks like a real good idea now (for sure). This gives me a good Idea what I'm up against now. Thanks again Sweeeet Pics. Much appreciated.

STL I've had my eye on your Ride as well, Awesome machine.

Cheers Jeff
