Exclamation Extended Cab Door Latch Problem......

The latch at the bottom of the driverside extended cab door is not latching and is creating some bad wind noise as well as causing the door ajar light to come on randomly (i think). Any quick fixes? I f not, where can I buy one?

try some wd-40 and see if you can get it loosened up with that.

I have the same issue. I sprayed it well with penetrating oil. It seems to move ok now but there is no reaction when it hits the door and no feel that it is doing anything when I mess with the door latch release handle. I think it's just broken. There does not appear to be any aftermarket replacement part. I may give in and take it to a dealer.....which I hate the idea of...but i am running out of options.

I had the same issue, I shot em up with lube, and I remember adjusting something........... I cant remember what I adjusted..... my issue was the noise and when I turned hard one way and it was cold out, my door ajar light would come on. After I adjusted the strikers (I think that is what I did, or the latches) then it was good.
Also use silicone spray on the seals for the doors and such, it will renew them and help them seal better.

Ok. I did a little more spray and pray. I worked the latch really good until it clicks when I push the latch back with a screwdriver to simulate the post ( striker ) going in there. It seems to be working even better but still no latch. I will try to move the striker out a little further toward the door so it makes contact earlier in the closing motion. I will let you know what that does.
