This would be cool. Just as long as you understand that if you roll over, you WILL be killed. Without the roof, the pillars will collapse and so will you.

I have to echo FireRanger. I've seen a couple and they do look good but there is no roll over protection.

Isn't that true with all convertible cars??!!

I guess people shouldn't buy convertible mustangs, corvettes, LeBaron, ....and so forth...
Yeah yeah I know that a truck is a bit more likely to roll over...but still....whos driving more recklessly to cause a roll over, a dude in a ranger or a dude in a corvette??!!

Besides, I believe I have ever yet to hear a news story where a convertible anything was rolled..not saying it doesn't happen...just saying that if someone made their truck convertible, it doesn't increase their chances of getting into a rollover situation, it just provides less protection "if" a rollover ever does happen .
On the other hand...i have heard many many reports of SUVs rolling over and their passengers being killed! So what's the deal with protection there? Those SUVs may as well been convertibles, their occupants died inside the vehicle anyway...what good protection did their roof and pillars and stuff do them??

Anyway, machine was correct, this thread is OLD, 33 months....someone went digging and found it and brought it back to life....

Umm, no. Because vehicles designed as convertibles are designed with the structural support or protection for the occupants.

U mean along the sides?? Or do they have an invisible support up top to protect their heads???

Im confused...how does a convertible corvette or mustang have top support if the car lands upside down to protect the occupants head??

What I am getting at, driving in general, anything is a risk...u say a convertible ranger is dangerous with no protection in a roll over...well people ride motorcycles and they have very little to none protection in a crash...

Here's a solution, EVERYBODY wear a helmet, motorcyclist and auto drivers...a helmet will protect your head no matter what, no matter what you are driving or riding!! Lol
Auto racers wear helmets and they are in strong rollcages designed for crashing lol.
