And what you do to those rims is tape off the machined face and then dip the rest, that's what I did with mine! It turned out really nice actually!

The first coat you spray to 50% visibility. The second you just civer the rest. The last coats are touch up. Havent done my rims yet. Ive done both bumpers and my grille.

Like they said, it's just spraying them! What I did was tape off all the areas you want to stay the same, then spray the whole rim not missing anything! Look at them from every angle to make sure you covered it! Then, when your ready to take the tape off, cut the tape out with a sharp( I mean extremely sharp) blade. I did 6-7 coats to cover them! It only took me 4 cans to do 8 rims, what i found helpful tho was doing a set of cheap rims first to get the feel of how it covers and the technique, here are my first attempts at it

The thicker you spray the easier it is to peel it later.

Default Re: Plasti-Dip?

Did my PT Cruiser bumpers last year. Easy to do but make sure you clean ALL wax and grease off. For the best result, use their primer first and clear afterwards. I did 2 coats
of primer, 4 color and four+ (until can is mt) of the clear.
The problem with using regular spray paint is that the plastic expands and contracts worse than metal causing it to crack. No problem going through car washes. I sold that Cruiser after driving it for 5 years and intend to do my new Cruiser as soon as it warms up a bit.
