Not sure where to put this thread, but I'll try here.

I really dig those CA license plates from the 80's/90's with the sun setting and the yellow stripes. Is it possible to take a set of those plates in and get my new truck's plates printed on them? Do they allow this? I seem to remember a buddy doing this with the old black CA plates on his 65' Mustang.

Talk with your Department of Motor Vehicles. My guess is no, you're limited to their current offerings of plates when going new.
