Default How to preserve the chassis of my 1997 Ranger?

Hello,

I spend the last 6 months to get my 1997 Ranger in technical top condition, the list of replacements is endless. But now the ride is as good as it gets.

The mechanics who are working on my truck advised me to do preservation on my chassis because when they lifted the bed they saw a lot of rust.
I would like to have some more years of fun on my Ranger and that's why i kindly ask your advice on how to do this and what kind of material you would recommend me. like linseed oil, tectyl etc..

Also i would like your advice on how to work the rusty steel, do i need to sand and brush till the beams are bright?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings from the Netherlands

Fred.
