Default Corner light not sitting right

I've recently had to switch out my corner lights so they'll pass inspection, went to put the stock ones back in, and for some reason the front left one wont sit right. The little white receiver clip that accepts the little nub on the light is there, but when i push it through it just slides back out (that's what she said).

Any help is appreciated.

Yuppers.

Why do you need to put the stock back in to pass inspection? They should be fine to pass..

If the others were blacked out, some states consider that illegal.
