Default PA 3in body lift dilema..

SOo i planned on installing this lift on my 98 4x4 xlt and i was this guy about this.. He drives an xterra. Anyway i was telling him my whole list of mods that i made that i want to do to my truck and as soon as i mentioned the 3in body lift he flips out saying that im stupid for doing it and that i should do a suspension lift instead and that its going to mess my truck up and in the end the repairs will cost more than a suspension lift. I know that a suspension lift can cost about 2 grand. The PA body list is about 200$. Idk if hes true but can anyone on here clarify anything please?? I have seen a lot of ppl on here with body lifts soo i appreciate your guys advice thanks
