Pre-Runner Bumper
How much work would it be to mod one of these to fit?

I know how to weld if that is an issue. or do they make kits to attach it and am i over thinking it? haha

Re: Pre-Runner Bumper
Im not looking for a dedicated pre-runner. its my daily driver and i like the look of those bumpers. the site i found say "universal" but i just dont see how it would secure to my bumper.

Re: Pre-Runner Bumper
Youre looking for more of a light bar then. Prerunner bumpers are literally the entire bumper and skid plate.
The one that you have linked are going to pretty much bolt onto your bumper, you'll have to drill out the holes.

Re: Pre-Runner Bumper
Yea it most likely will. Offers no more protection then your bumper. Mostly just there to hold lights

Re: Pre-Runner Bumper
Only thing I would recommend is an actual offroad bumper, but it would probably be too heavy and look too bulky on a stock 2wd
Most things do more harm then good, even brushguards most of the time.
If you wanted a little more protection on your truck Id go will a full prerunner bumper, but that'll get expensive and look a little strange on a stock 2wd IMO

Re: Pre-Runner Bumper
well its only stock for a couple more weeks, then im gonna level it and put 27'' tires with quite the aggressive tread on it (Not huge i know) so that might help the look. but yeah $600 is a bit much for me.

Re: Pre-Runner Bumper
Was you wanting something just from protection or lights?

Re: Pre-Runner Bumper
a bit of both. but i mainly really like how it looks. lights would be nice.
if i had my way id bring my truck with me when i join the Marines and turn it into a full fledged pre-runner in my down time, but that will, either, wait or not happen. so im kinda looking for the pre-runner look minus the pre-runner $$$. haha

Re: Pre-Runner Bumper
Pro comp universal light bar
they have them for your truck for $180
They look good, attach in front of the bumper, still not much protection but they look better then the ones on top.
http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/s..._lightbars.htm
Id also reccomend saving up and getting a little bigger tires and some lift to help with the prerunner look. I like it too and may get a full prerunner bumper at some point, but no time soon.
ALSO
I've had bad experiences with this particular site, but I gave you that link just do you can see it

Re: Pre-Runner Bumper
The one on the far right is the same think on your model truck. I like em too, wish I would have got one instead of my safari bar at times.
Anyways, Im sure some other guys that are actual PR guys will check into this thread later and be able to give you some ideas too.
