I recently purchased a 2011 XL. I am looking to black it out (headlights/tail lights) & add foglights in the area where the plastic covers are since it is an XL.

Headlights/Taillights
I do not want to use any spray tent on the lights because I do not want anything perminant. I also am scared to death of melting my headlight when doing the self paint headlight mod. I cannot find any aftermarket lights for the 2011 or any plastic, removable headlight covers. Please let me know if my year is also compatable with any other years when it comes to aftermarket lighting so i could just purchase them and install directly. I know the shape of the 06' to 11' is very similar but I'm just not sure.

Foglights
I measured the opening of the round hole void where the XLT foglight would be and it was around 4.25" so i believe that any 4" O.D. foglight will work. The only problem is the mounting. The hole is like a round tunnel leading back to a bracket which is where the void covers attach. There is a slot cut from the back of the tunnel to the front with about an inch of flat plastic. I think that if I buy the type of foglight that clamps to a bracket, it will be able to clamp to this 1" of plastic. Again, I do not know how the clamping works or if the height can be adjusted so that I can center the light if I need to.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

01+ headlights are all the same (except the corners, but they just changed color) so any cover would work and aftermarkets for those years should all be compatible. I know not long ago a member had some AVS covers for sale on here. May be able to still find them.

As for the fog lights, I am clueless.

I have a 2011 XL too.`I've already done a lot of mods but my next one's gonna be black billet grilles top/bottom,should go good with the black front end.When mine was a week old I put an 03/04 grille in it.I just bought it for the outer shell of the grill to use with the black billet grille.It took about 5 minutes to change the grille..I later added the emblem($9 new) in the center but it looked pretty good without it IMO.You have a lot of after market options for the Ranger because it hasn't changed much in a long time.I'd also like to know what it takes to mount fogs.
