Default 1996 Ranger Bumper Swap Question.

Ok, my plans for my truck don't include chrome! unfortunately the bumpers on my ranger are chrome.. so i have a few questions on what would be the best way to go about changing that.

1) Could I replace them with a 93-95 "Splash" bumper?
2) Should I prime/paint over my chrome bumpers?
3) Should I get a replacement bumper with plain black metal?

I am also interested in adding the lower bumper part with fog lights.

Any advice/reccomendations will be very appreciated

Might sound a bit "Ranger-racist" but I only REALLY like 93-97's.

A splash bumper will not fit. It will only fit on a stepside

awesome, thanks for the info! i may look into getting a splash front bumper with fog lights on bottom, and a newer rear bumper in the same color as my ranger.

Any idea on how to add fogs if the wiring is already there behind the bumper?
