Default Tail light (Getting Water)

Hey, I have some after mart tail lights i bought from ebay.. They look real nice and work fine. But the only problem is that one will get water in it. I am wondering what is the best way to keep the water out? And what is the best way to drive the water out.. I think i might need to take it off and put some silicone around the light to re-seal it so water wont get inside of it.

there lies the problems with all aftermarket tails.... leakage....

Best thing to do is throw the stockers back on, take the aftermarkets inside the house to let the moisture evaporate and get the housings somewhat warm. Then lay a complete bead silocone around the backing to the lense mating surface and let dry. IF your tails are darker, use black silocone. If they are lighter like chrome, use a clear silocone.

Well i really do not wont to have to take them off and put my stockers back on..
Can i just take them off and use some black silicone and re-seal it.. And the moisture inside will just dry up

Well, It will try up on it own, whenever it gets warm outside.. And a really hot day or warm day the water will dry up.

You want no moisture at all on the inside and you REALLY don't want any on anything the silocone will be touching. Do it if you want...silocone won't stick. It's like putting ducttape on a wet pipe....won't stick.
