You don't. You live in Canada where DRL's are required. The only way to disable them is to go to a dealer and ask them to plug into the computer and deprogram them. They will most likely not do it because they are required. You can ask, but don't expect them to do it.

You can make the HID's work with the DRL's. You put a 3000+uf capacitor (available at Radio Shack) in parallel on the truck's low beam circuit where you connect it to the HID's relay harness. Note, you NEED a relay harness. You can not use the cheap shit without a relay.

Well, you could do that. Or you could do it the way I suggested, which is the right way.

Are you trying to school me in how electricity works? lol. Good luck. haha. This coming from the person who lists gapped spark plugs as a mod and compares powering HID's to an amp turn on wire. Redundent relay?? No. Please, go back to playing with your toys.

So anyway Alex, you can do it the right way, or you can listen to this guy. Choice is yours.

I will be sure to add "changed oil" to my signature, right next to "put air in tires". That's would be comparable to "gapped plugs".

When you started off your first response with "I got this", that basically says "ya forget what he said cause I know better. So I'm not sure why you are surprised I responded in the manner that I did. Had you just explained your suggested procedure without going on about "screw the law" and "no no I got this", I would have happily discussed the pros and cons with you. Yes, it is easier to do it your way. Easier isn't always right.

I know more about electricity and the law than you apparently realize. Most here will vouch for that, especially the ones I've helped with this exact situation many many many times. And when I give people advice on electrical and legal situations, I make it complete and the right way. Sometimes there is more than one right way and other people chime in with other right way. Most of the time, there is one right way, and this one of them. When people suggest the wrong way, or a way that will get them in trouble, I make it known. Your child speak and name calling is not accomplishing anything for you.
