Default Rear Sliding Window?

Hey all,

I broke the drivers side rear slider window pannel in my 94 Ranger Supercab. I cant seem to find anywhere that sells only that pannel so my question is,
Are aftermarket replacements windows (the whole back window job) designed to fit all models? I dont want to buy a replacement and have it not fit!

Thanks,
John

Try and get one from a local junkyard. It will be cheap and you could get it out of the same year truck.

Just go to the junkyard. The aftermarket ones look weird.

There were two different rear window sizes used on American Rangers.

- One fits all 1983-1997 single cab Rangers.
- The other fits all 1985-2011 Supercab Rangers and 1998-2011 Single cab Rangers.

i have been having a really difficult time when i comes to finding a rear window. i have called around to the majority of the junk yards here in the metroplex but still havent been able to find one. my original window was a sliding rear window but at this point i would settle for a solid pane of glass. but i can handle that part, does anyone here have any pointers on changing it out? i am a newby when it comes to glass work so any options or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks- JD

For the record, I only paid $27 for my rear slider, and I picked it up from a junkyard. Some of you guys getting charged over $50 should shop around a little bit. The windows aren't worth any more than $40 because you could never sell them for more than that yourself.

I picked up the rear slider today for 100 bucks. it was the only junkyard in 50 miles that had one at all.

Does anybody have any experience replacing this window in a supercab? Is it generally the same as a regular cab, in that the window sits in a rubber gasket, and you just have to pry the old one out and fit The new one in?

Don't feel bad. The Yard I usually go to originally wanted 100 for a slider but I haggled them down to 75 since I pulled it myself.

I broke mine before. I went to the junkyard and picked up one for $65. They bolt in so the install is easy. Just use the windshield adhesive to seal it.

I got a 94 supercab. The window has small studs on the inside behind the trim. There's like 8 small nuts holding it in. Just use windshield adhesive to seal it. (put a 1/4" bead around the frame area on the cab. Then put the window in place and install the nuts. Helps to have someone present to help.

Thanks for the tip. I wasn't sure if it was a gasket or bolt in with some kind of sealer.
