Hey everyone!!!

This is my first post on the Ranger forum...so hello to everyone!!!

I'm hoping to get some opinions and help a little problem I discovered a few days ago. I happened to be waxing my truck, when I noticed that on the roof almost dead center at the front the paint is bubbling up. Now, I was going to do some minor things to help prevent the rust. But I have spoken to several people who have been telling me that I should take it back to the dealership, as I bought it new and it was only built in Aug 08. It just seems very strange for a vehicle to rust, so sun. My father has a 98 Escort with 650,000 kms on it and its only got a few little rust spots.

I really don't know if it would be worth the hassle or not to go to the dealership, to see what they would say. Any recommendations would be appreciated at this point.

warranty. covers EVERYTHING. take it to the dealer.
why even questtion this?

Likely started out as a rock chip. Warranty won't cover that!

Just sand it down, treat it with some of that rust-conversion primer, fill it, and re-paint it. Life goes on.

In Canada we does. we have 5 years Corrosion Warranty for unlimited Kms

I decided to bring the truck to my dealership, be for I do the work. Just to see what they would say. As far as the 5yr, unlimited KMS corrosion warranty goes, there has to be a hole forming in the rust.If there is paint bubbling,chipping or rust starting it falls under the basic warranty 5 yr 60,000kms. The body Shop Manager looked it over and informed me that although I'm over on the KMS, I'm still under the years and could put a work order through as "Good Will". But Ford Canada would decide if they wanted to do the work. If they did decide to repair the rust, I would still have to pay the first $250.00.

I told them, its north worth all of the hassle, Ill just do the work myself..
