I'd say maybe 1/4 inch steel. Idk, I'm thinking the same kind of bumper but I want a winch mount. Where you at in Montana. I'm up in Havre for school.

He just fixed it temporarily to make it driveable. I thought that his bumper was still available...

3/16" steel will be fine for the majority of the bumper. The mounts and if you make a winch box or winch platform/plate for it, I'd use 1/4" steel. That's what my bumper is made from. I've pulled trees out of the ground, stumps, and I've lost track of the cars I've drug or winched out of ditches and fields.

I "frenched in" the foglights too. It was easy. I just cut the holes and went to a local welding shop and found some scrap pieces of pipe that just fit over my fog lights, and welded that into the bumper and ground it flush. I used 1/4" scrap pieces to make some tabs to mount the lights to, on the back of the bumper. The outer ends of the bumper, you'll want supported or gusseted to the middle section of the bumper. Some pipe welded inside would be easy and strong enough.

Check out my pics for more views of how I did the foglights. You can see the pipe I welded in, kinda. I REALLY need to go take some pictures of my new skidplate I built. It's not on there in the pics I have.

i'd go with steel, 1/8" plate would be fine for what your doing, keeps some of the weight of the suspension. i would bring some 1/2" thick strap steel around 2" wide from your factory bumper mounting holes on out, and build the rest off of them, just put any tow hooks on the end of the strap steel. and a thicker (1/4" - 1/2") brace going across the whole thing wouldn't hurt anything.
