Sucks for you. Here in Texas all we have to worry about is a faded painted job. I have an '03 with 0 rust. When I did my lift, all my bolts popped right off with no breaker bar or WD40.

Yeah thats what piss poor care for a truck will get you, that sucks. Id take care of the gas tank hanger thats rusted away asap and for the rest a good coat of POR-15 will help.

You going to be into this truck for some major repairs. The liquid chemicals they put on the roads these days in the NorthEast will rot the snowplow off of a dump truck. Your brake lines will likely give out soon if they haven't already.

Good for you. He didn't post this thread for you to brag about your rust free truck, but rather for help on what he should do about it. If you can't offer any help, don't reply.

ive heard of that stuff, cant remember what its called, they only put it on bridges around here since its alot better than salt for ice but worse on the trucks. i cant imagine if they put it on all the roads thats gotta suck...
but in reality around here at least their is worse vehicles rust wise running around, not too much of a big deal as long as structurally its all good. but yea fix what ya can.

one thing i have to add is i think the paint/coating put on the facory makes a big difference. my friend has a 98 grand cherokee that he NEVER ever has washed and has had it for a long time. that truck looks nice underneath. then my truck and his neighbor who has a 98 f150 that doesnt take care of it are both rusty as can be. i spray mine in the winter but it looks the same as when i got it
