Default Fender Flare and Grill paint?

So my 2002 Black Ranger XLT is not looking the best. The grill has turned a greenish grey and my fender flares and lower bumper look very faded almost a light grey with white patterns in it (not wax). I have seen people have painted these. I have attached images to help you understand what is going on. I was wondering if anyone has painted their fender flares on a black ranger and has pictures. Also what brand and color should I use. I heard dupli-color is good, any suggestions? Should the paint be gloss or flat. Also what should I do with the grill. Pretty much I am looking for suggestions on what you guys thing would look best and if you have pictures to refrence that would be great!

You can paint the front grill with krylon paint for plastics (what I used you can use others) and I have seen in the how to area you can dye them I want to do it some time I think it would look great. Btw you have almost identical trucks as mine

I painted my grill using Krylon (maybe Fusion) Satin Black spray paint. I really like the way it looks and I definitely recommend it. My grill was also gray and really faded.

Do not pull the fender flares to paint them. I did, and it was a major pain in the ass. Simply mask them off, and you'll be ok to paint them. They look good black. Did my grill and flares black.

Sorry to hijack the thread but when using the krylon paint should you prep the surface with a light sanding or is just a good cleaning needed? Thanks in advance for the input!

I soap and water cleaned mine down (mine had also faded its an 03) I used the SEM Color Coat paint (I painted mine Charcoal 2 coats and put a satin clear coat on) and It has held up great so far! (I swear by SEM paint/dyes)

I just used soap and water then acetone. If you sand fender flares I heard the texture will be screwed up and you won't be able to fix it.

You were right cacher! that was a major pain in the arse! But everything looks great. I used fusion black for the bed rails and fender flares and I used a alumium color on the grill. One of my bed rails was being stubborn so I taped around it and it came out just fine. Then I painted my cargo box with spray on bed liner and painted on the ford logo. Now we just have to wait and see if this fusion stuff holds up to the Florida sun (I did use the fusion clear coat uv protectant finish).

Really want to highlight the grill? Paint the outer front edge lines silver by hand, to make the black stand out.

You don't need to paint the bumpers or wheel flares. Just go to walmart and get some trim restorer and use it. It'll make it look brand new. I live in FL as well btw. For the grill, yea, it'll just look better to paint, and be a pain in the ass to use trim restorer on it. I used turtle trim restorer. Also works on mud faps, mirrors, bed rails, stepside steps (be care it'll make them slippy) and other plastic parts. Just keep away from paint, it wont hurt it, but is annoying to take off. The trim restorer will last around 6months before you'll need to apply more.

Edit: Nevermind the topc is a year old. WHO POSTS ON A YEAR OLD TOPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ugh wasting my time
