I have the line x with the protectant. It has been in for 7 years or so and has not faded one bit. The truck is not garage kept and is exposed to the Florida sun all day. Maybe fifteen years or so it may fade a little bit but for now with a little soap and water it looks as good as the day it was put in.

What I've done with my truck was to pull the drop liner(which like) and rubberized undercoated the bed, then re-installed it. This helps keep the liner from scuffing the paint down to the metal. I pull the liner every couple of years to clean under it and touch up the undercoating if needed(hasn't needed to so far).

Bedrug isn't a liner, it's, we'll its a bed rug lol. It's a carpet type of mat that you lay in there.

hmm yeah i see your point.. haha i just figured if its as durable as line x yet soft, it might be worth trying! haha

I have actually got a new question... Who has experience with spray in rhino liner?? like the type you could buy at walmart.. or anywhere ? I was given the idea to spray my nerf bar with it.

You can use it on your nerf bar, but I would still recommend line-x for it. Unless you are going to second guess coating it in something, it might be worth the extra $50-$100 to get it done by Line-X if you want reliability and durability and looks. The DIY kits don't come out horrible, but IMO they look like shit compared to Line-x (and Rhino Liner looks like shit compared to Line-X.)

Just putting it out there.

The only reason Line-X is preferred is because it is a superior product in both strength, dry time (meaning it doesn't sag or droop like when you spray on paint too heavy) and comes out completely uniform.

I rolled on some Durabak on my Rangers bed and was really impressed with out stout it is. I literally threw a spare tire carrier from a Bronco in the bed, and it didn't even chip it (and it's only about a coat and a half, as I can still see the green showing through in some spots). It's about $100 for the kit, and the rollers are completely useless after the first coat, but I would recommend it. Plus it comes in a shit tone of colors and two different textures.

You can also use Herculiners UV protection product on Line-x to bring back a shine. Did it to my Chevy and it lasted for awhile anyway.

Alright, sweet shit. I just need to get the money to have the bed and nerf bars done lol! Thinking about this.. I keep getting more and more ideas of things i could have sprayed (line-x). like what about the plastic cover on the rear bumper? or maybe the chrome ranger symbol, or the exterior door handles?.. im thinking things like that would be bad ass covered in liner. hahah am i the only one??

I bought my truck from a dealer..the previous owner used it as a work truck so it's beat up (but I love it). The bed is lined with what seems to be rhino..a spray in but not sure of the brand. It's rough to the touch and turns everything black...if i touch it my hands turn black and my paddle board has some black scratches on it now from loading it into the bed. The liner on the tailgate is cracked and coming up in some places..the coating is about a centimeter thick. I live in South Florida..hot sun bakes everything..does it need a fresh coat or should I forget the do it yourself spray stuff and try a bed rug or mat? I don't haul heavy stuff..this is my beach truck and use it to transport my 12 ft stand up paddle board. I don't want to put in a plastic liner and have been using a blanket temporarily.

I havent read alll the posts but hurculiner like some suggested is great because they make a sealer for it, it keeps it glossy and seals it from the dirt. I have it on my bedrails for the past year and a half in the sun and through the winter months it looks absolutely brand new, so i recommend the sealer
