I have a drop in liner in mine that came with the truck. It works great imo but I would get line-x if I had the money. My liner is warped and stuff slides around a lot. My dad has herculiner roll on in his super duty and it looks like shit. You can see a lot of the paint still on the sides and ridges. It's also super gritty so it scratches everything you put in there and hurts to kneel or lean on it

If you can see paint and it looks like shit like that.. then he did a bad job at putting it on.... he didn't do it right, or whomever did it, didnt do it correctly.
What are you putting in your bed that you are worried about scratching? Fine china, mirrors? The bed and the herculiner is meant to be used for work, hauling stuff, from atvs, rocks, dirt, lumber, etc... if you are using it to haul delicate stuff, get it carpeted, or put a blanket down first.
Same thing goes for it hurting when you kneel on it.... or u can just 'man-up'
lol

Herculiner is great for DIY. and if it does chip or peel or wear out in a spot YOU can fix it unlike line-x.

Re: BEDLINER (Pics, Tips, Opinions)
I've got a Penda Skid-Resistor drop in bed liner that came with the truck. It hasn't faded one single bit and it has a semi-gloss finish. The previous owner was a contractor and when I pulled out the liner to give it a clean, there was dirt and sand and gravel all underneath, but when I washed it out, there weren't any scratches on the original paint. That's proof for me at least that drop ins don't really scratch your paint. If you have a spray in liner, you're more susceptible to dents and if you have a crack/scrape, water can penetrate to bare metal and start to rust out your bed since most shops sand off all the paint to get a bare metal surface to spray in the liner. Whereas with a drop in, if any water gets underneath the liner it still has a layer of paint to stop it, and when you boot it/ drive uphill, the water drains right out from underneath it. If you're carefull with what goes into your truck's bed and make sure nothing gets underneath the liner, you should be set. If anything does, just pop it out and give it a sweep. For me, my liner has given me great satisfaction and I don't have any complaints with it, and I'm rough on it.

Re: BEDLINER (Pics, Tips, Opinions)
I had the Ford dealership spray one in for me. It was $400 I believe. It's been very durable and has a semi-gloss look to it. It looks great. It is also covered under factory warranty since I got it sprayed in when I got the truck. I did it because I didn't want any rust. I think it took a few weeks to really harden up though. I scratched some of it off at some point even though I waited as long as they said. Make sure you are careful for like a month and it will be very durable. Since then I haven't had any scratches or anything.
When I had my 1994 Ford ranger, I thought the drop in worked very well, too though. The drop in seemed to be more durable against just throwing heavy stuff in there, or dragging sharp things in there.

Yeah I know it's put on poorly, he did it himself. The fact that it looks like shit has nothing to do with the product it self. And I was helping him haul some old school lockers and it scratched the shit out of the paint. I don't think you're understanding how gritty this stuff is. I realize there should be some texture to it, otherwise it wouldn't help(duh) but this is like small rocks mixed in with the bedliner. The spots without these rocks are much nicer, and still grip.

Re: BEDLINER (Pics, Tips, Opinions)
It probably needed to be stirred up better, or maybe thinned down with some acetone.

Re: BEDLINER (Pics, Tips, Opinions)
I have a drop in bed liner & now have found the front of my bed rotted out. I would suggest Line-X. Does anyone know of any repair kits for the bed

Re: BEDLINER (Pics, Tips, Opinions)
I used Herculiner in a Ranger truck bed. Turned out good. Looks a little rougher than a spray in liner. Seemed to hold up good. Did start to fade after awhile, which they all do I guess. Just follow the directions to the letter. If you check online for Advance Auto coupons, you can buy it cheap there.

Re: BEDLINER (Pics, Tips, Opinions)
line x is the only way ill ever go.
if i dont have enough cash for it, i wont use a DIY, ill save up and wait till i can afford linex.
yes its expensive, but it will outlast the truck, and look damn good with no fading the whole time.
rhino liner sucks.

Re: BEDLINER (Pics, Tips, Opinions)
^ wrong... Every one of them fades over time, however, Line-X does offer a UV protected version of their product that prevents fading over a longer period of time.
